Weatherbeeta ComFiTec Essential Standard Lite

The turnout rug is the most popular horse rug to own. It will probably be the first rug you decide to buy if you don’t already have one. You can buy turnout rugs of different styles and thicknesses. There are winter turnout rugs which are thick and for use in the cold months, medium weight turnout rugs for spring and autumn and you can get light rugs for summer.

Exercise Sheets
Mark Todd Waterproof Exercise Sheet

These sheets are used when the horse is being ridden. They work to keep the animal dry and warm during exercise. Exercise sheets (pictured above) cover the horse’s body from the front of the saddle to the rear of the horse and some of them also feature cut-away areas for the saddle.

A good exercise sheet should be breathable and they will often also feature reflective strips for added safety.

Here at Equine Superstore we feature a number of exercise rugs from brands such as Weatherbeeta and Rambo Newmarket. Why not view all of our exercise sheets and see if anything jumps out at you? To do so, click here.

Summer Sheets

In the summer, the need to keep your horse warm is not as relevant. However, if you are transporting your horse to a show, you will want to ensure that your horse stays clean and free of dust. You won’t want to turn up to a show with a horse that has a dirty coat. This is where summer sheets come in. These popular rugs are very good at keeping your horse clean and keeping its well groomed coat nice and shiny before an event.

Again, here at Equine Superstore, we have a number of summer rugs from Saxon and Amigo, and many more. Have a look at our summer sheets now by clicking here.

Show Sheets
If you are attending a show and you want your horse to look stylish and professional, whilst also keeping warm, then you will want to invest in a show sheet. Show sheets also serve a variety of purposes – some can be used for travelling and others are good for use in the stables. Others can be used as mid-weight rugs for early autumn and spring.

Our show sheet collection includes designs from Weatherbeeta, Rambo, Gallop and more, so have a look at them now by clicking here.

Fly Rugs & Sheets
A fly sheet is another useful type of horse rug that you may well wish to invest in. They are used primarily in the summer, in order to protect your horse from flies and other biting insects, which could cause it discomfort. They are lightweight and breathable, and they also offer lighter skinned horses some form of protection from the sun. As well as fly and sun protection, they can also be used to keep dust and dirt off the animal.

Our range of fly sheets includes designs from a number of brands, including Weatherbeeta, Saxon, Amigo and more. Have a look at fly sheets by clicking here.

Stable Rugs
Weatherbeeta ComFiTec PP Channel Quilt Detach-A-Neck Medium

Stable rugs tend to be quilted or padded and come in varying degrees of thickness offering a range of warmth provision for horses. They are, as their name suggests, only to be used in the stable. They aren’t waterproof and shouldn’t be used outdoors. Like most rugs they are often breathable and hold the perspiration away from the horse’s body – this allows the cooling down process to be more gradual. You can even diversify further by investing in specific night or day stable rugs, which are designed for different temperatures etc. A stable rug can also be used underneath a turnout rug during the winter months, when keeping them warm out in the field is paramount.

We have a huge range of stable rugs that offers you varying prices and styles. On Equine Superstore we offer stable rugs from Weatherbeeta, Saxon, Rhino and more. Click here to see our full range of stable rugs.
